New technologies for the design and production of RNA vaccines in Aragon

The aid is summoned by the DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMY, PLANNING AND EMPLOYMENT of the Government of Aragon. This is a "Line of aid for companies to carry out business projects in Aragon with experimental development and/or industrial research in the field of the pharmaceutical sector." The objective of this project is the industrial research for the development and implementation of a technology that allows designing, evaluating and producing our own vaccines using RNA as the active principle. This project, as pioneer at Spain, seeks to establish a complete platform on which to propose, from start to finish, the development of new vaccines against infectious diseases, both human and animal, and also for the immunotherapy of different types of cancer. In this sense it is intended to use the platform implemented through this project to obtain, among others, vaccines against future variants of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes the current global coronavirus pandemic; or swine flu, which has a very negative effect on livestock farms as it is a fundamental sector for Aragon.
