VIASURE HCV q Real Time PCR Detection Reagents RUO is a RT-qPCR test designed for the quantitative detection of HCV RNA in human samples. The isolated RNA target is transcribed generating complementary DNA by reverse transcriptase, which is followed by the amplification of a conserved section of the 5’ UTR region of the genome, using specific primers and a fluorescent-labelled probe.

VIASURE HCV q Real Time PCR Detection Reagents RUO contains in each well all the components necessary for real time PCR assay (specific primers/probes, dNTPs, buffer, polymerase and retrotranscriptase) in a stabilized format. The assay uses a human housekeeping gene as an Endogenous Internal Control (EIC) (human B2M gene) to follow-up the integrity of the sample, to monitor the extraction process and/or discard the inhibition of the polymerase activity. Human housekeeping genes are involved in basic cell maintenance and, therefore, are expected to be present in all nucleated human cells and maintain relatively constant expression levels.

In addition, this kit contains 4 lyophilized vials (HCV1Q1 to HCV1Q4) with different standardized concentrations of HCV specific cDNA (HCV q Quantitative Standards) for the quantification of HCV viral RNA in research samples. These quantitative standards are calibrated against the 6th WHO International Standard for HCV RNA for Nucleic Acid Amplification Techniques (NIBSC code 18/184), ensuring the quality of the results and the comparison with results from other laboratories.
