VIASURE Adenovirus q Real Time PCR Detection Reagents RUO is a qPCR test designed for the quantitative/quantitative detection of Adenovirus q DNA in human samples. After DNA isolation, the detection of Adenovirus q is performed by the amplification of a conserved region of the hexon gene, using specific primers and fluorescent-labelled probes.

VIASURE Adenovirus q Real Time PCR Detection Reagents RUO contains in each well all the components necessary for real time PCR assay (specific primers/probes, dNTPs, buffer and polymerase) in a stabilized format. The assay uses a human housekeeping gene as an Endogenous Internal Control (EIC) (human RNase P gene) to follow-up the integrity of the sample, to monitor the extraction process and/or discard the inhibition of the polymerase activity. Human housekeeping genes are involved in basic cell maintenance and, therefore, are expected to be present in all nucleated human cells and maintain relatively constant expression levels.

In addition, this kit contains 4 lyophilized vials (AVQ1Q1 to AVQ1Q4) with different standardized concentrations of Adenovirus q specific DNA (Adenovirus q Quantitative Standards) for the quantification of Adenovirus viral DNA in research samples. These quantitative standards are calibrated against the 1st WHO International Standard for human adenovirus DNA for NAT (NIBSC code 16/324; HAdV type 2), ensuring the quality of the results and the comparison with results from other laboratories.
